Not Forgotten - Centenary of ANZAC

This exhibition provides compelling and poignant stories of men and women from Shoalhaven who served in World War 1. It draws on photographs and artifacts found in the Nowra Museum as well as other sources and includes fascinating memorabilia and untold stories from Rabaul, Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine and The Western Front. This extended exhibition occupies 2 rooms of the Museum and will run for the duration of 2015


Shoalhaven - Our domestic history

Room 3 of Museum holds a permanent display of fascinating artefacts and memorabilia from the lives of everyday citizens of the Shoalhaven. From fashion ware to dinner bells, this walk down memory lane will be sure to enthral old and young alike. Items in the display are regular updated.


Samuel Elyard Gallery
The main hallway of the Nowra Museum is a small gallery dedicated to the works of Samuel Elyard. Elyard was a prolific painter and photographer that produced many fascinating and detailed water colour and oil painting of the Shoalhaven region in the mid to late 1800's. The Museum holds a collection of 25 works with approximately 15 on permanent display. The Museum is currently displaying all of its Collection in a short term extended exhibition.

Aboriginal History
The Shoalhaven has a vast and significant Aboriginal heritage. The Nowra Museum has a small number of images and artefacts on permanent display.
